Punggi ginseng is raised in Mt. Sobaek's sandy clay, which is rich in minerals and drains water well, with a continental cold weather condition, offering the best natural conditions for cultivating ginseng. This gives the ginseng more solid texture and more saponine compared with other ginseng variants. A total of 393 tons of ginseng are produced on 436ha farms by 880 farm households. Four companies process 20 types of Punggi ginseng products and distribute them nationwide.
