Overview
Sobaeksan Mountain Jarakgil Trail, which spans four cities and counties in three different provinces (Yeongju-si and Bonghwa-gun in Gyeongsangbuk-do, Danyang-gun in Chungcheongbuk-do, and Yeongwol-gun in Gangwon-do), was named as the first “Cultural Eco Road with Stories” by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism in 2009, and was also named the “Star of Tourism in Korea” in 2011.
143km (360 ri) in total length, Sobaeksan Mountain Jarakgil Trail features twelve individual Jarakgil Trails that are, on average, 12km (30 ri) in length. Each individual Trail takes 3~4 hours to complete, which is the perfect length for a day’s trekking.
